GNSI offers a number of events in person and online throughout the year. In addition, local Chapters and Groups hold local events to keep you connected and engaged.
The GNSI's Visual SciComm Conference is an annual event for artists, scientists, creators and educators of all stripes to dive into the world of visual science communication. This week-long event includes talks, workshops, portfolio sharing, field trips, and a juried exhibition as well as endless opportunities for professional development and networking. Open to both members and non-members, our Visual SciComm Conference is the perfect opportunity to create connections with like-minded professionals who share a passion for the use of art in science.
With 150–300 attendees, every event provides opportunities to catalyze great conversations and address different skill levels and interests while ensuring a comfortable environment for interacting and networking.
Conferences alternate every other year in person and online. Join our mailing list to stay up to date on the coming year's plan.
GNSI Educational Series Workshops are immersive and intensive opportunities to learn about selected areas of scientific illustration from experts in the field. The workshops are offered in various locations across the United States, as well as digitally, throughout the year.

In addition to national events, our chapters and groups host regional events throughout the year.
Artist by-lines are too often buried or completely overlooked. Yet the expertise and mastery our community of visual science communicators bring to the table is unsurpassed. The images we use on our website come from our Juried Members' Exhibits over the years, as judged by a panel of experts. We name them wherever possible below each image to celebrate their excellent work and to set an example for everyone to remember that these images don't create themselves. Please visit their websites and support their work.
