Liberty Noceda

Treasurer

Hi all, I'm Liberty or Libby (she/they). I've been on a winding path through different job fields, states, surgeries, and difficulties, but art and nature have always been close comforts.

I've spent over 12 years in service and IT, and I successfully ran two small businesses. When I lived in Texas, I served as Secretary for the Gulf Coast Texas Master Naturalists, wrote short articles for their monthly newsletter, and volunteered with multiple groups for conservation efforts and educational outreach. Despite my physical limitations and no formal education, I love helping out wherever I can and learning about different fields!

I learned the term scientific illustration in Autumn 2025. That combined love of art and science was exactly what I had been looking for my entire life!! I immediately joined GNSI at both the local and national levels, made a 5 year plan, and applied to the Rhode Island School of Design.

I'm now happily settling down with my partner in Massachusetts, starting my second semester at RISD for their Scientific Illustration certification, and fighting a losing battle with collecting hobbies.
