Jenn Deutscher

Interim Vice President

Jennifer (Jenn) Deutscher is an Arizona native who grew up with the American West as her backyard. Like most GNSI members, she became utterly enchanted by nature from an early age. She loves understanding the 'why' and 'how' and uses her art to encourage viewers to engage more deeply with the world. Jenn moved to the great concrete jungle of New York City to earn a degree in Biological Sciences & Illustration from New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study, followed by a certificate in Botanical Art & Illustration from the New York Botanical Garden.

Jenn continues to live in NYC, where she illustrates and teaches at Adelphi University. Her illustrations can be found in institutions and educational materials nationwide, including at the Cincinnati Museum Center, Florida Keys Wild Bird Center, and Yolo Basin Foundation. In her free time, she enjoys long wanders, baking, dumping science facts on friends and family, and playing with new media (most recently, intaglio!)

Jenn has been a GNSI member for over a decade, much of which she spent volunteering as Social Media Coordinator (2018 - 2025). She is excited to continue to support the Guild as its '25 - '26 Interim Vice President. The GNSI and its members have been formative to her career and she is proud to give back to the organization that has given so much to her.
