50th Anniversary GNSI Juried Member Exhibit
The exhibit was on display at the prestigious art gallery of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) in Washington DC, from July 16 through October 15, 2018. It took the visitor through the beginnings of modern science and science’s inseparable connections with art, through to present-day scientific knowledge and represented by the evolving art of scientific illustration and visualization.
The honored exhibit jurors were
- Fernando Baptista, Senior Graphics Editor at National Geographic Magazine
- Edward Bell, Animator, Designer, Lecturer, and former Art Director at Scientific American Magazine
- Sarah Tanguy, Independent Curator, and Arts Writer
- Chris Bickle, Senior Scientific Illustrator at Science Magazine
- Eliahu Dwek, Theoretical Astrophysicist, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and Artist for the Smithsonian's National Air & Space Museum
There were four submission categories: Our Diverse World, Seeing the Unseen, Simplifying Complex Science, and Innovation for Today and Tomorrow.
