GNSI has many local chapters in the United States that build community and provide professional development opportunities. Chapters bring regional members together, host local events such as lectures and field trips, and facilitate networking through their web presence and social media.
BENEFITS OF FORMING A CHAPTER
Chapter events are covered under GNSI's national liability insurance
Get the word out about your events through the GNSI newsletter and social media channels
GNSI members in good standing are eligible to apply for small grants from the Education Fund
GNSI-Carolinas was founded in 1992, and currently has over 30 active members. Our membership includes those interested in art and the natural sciences, amateur artists, & working professional artists/illustrators.
This Chapter was created to encourage and support New England based natural science illustrators through networking, technique workshops, exhibits and sharing of our collective knowledge with each other. Our common goal is science education through our art.
The Great Plains Chapter of Guild of Natural Science Illustrators (GNSI) is based in Lincoln, Nebraska but includes members in Minnesota, Missouri, Kansas and Iowa as well.
GNSI Northwest was founded in 1979. The group is centered in the Puget Sound area, with members from all over Washington State. Meetings are held 4 times yearly, and include technique demonstrations, workshops, portfolio sharing, and field trips.
Groups are informal associations that form to test whether there is sufficient interest and volunteer-power to sustain a more permanent Local Chapter. The following regions have an interest in forming GNSI Groups. Please reach out to the representative for each to indicate interest in joining.

Artist by-lines are too often buried or completely overlooked. Yet the expertise and mastery our community of visual science communicators bring to the table is unsurpassed. The images we use on our website come from our Juried Members' Exhibits over the years, as judged by a panel of experts. We name them wherever possible below each image to celebrate their excellent work and to set an example for everyone to remember that these images don't create themselves. Please visit their websites and support their work.
