2016 Margaret Flockton Award

The Margaret Flockton Award commemorates the contribution Margaret Flockton made to Australian scientific botanical illustration. The Foundation & Friends of the Botanic Gardens, as a major fundraising organization and supporter of the Royal Botanic Gardens & Domain Trust, is pleased to sponsor the Margaret Flockton Award for Excellence in Scientific Botanical Illustration.

In the bicentennial year of the Royal Botanic Gardens, the Margaret Flockton Award Exhibition will be held in the Joseph Maiden Theatre from Saturday, April 9 to Sunday, May 1, 2016.

Illustrators are invited to submit one or two original scientific botanical illustrations in black and white by close of business Friday, February 19, 2016. [Ed. Note: the entry page is under construction and won’t be completed until sometime in December; although the dates shown indicate this is for the 2015 Award, all entry details remain the same, excepting the dates.]

ENTRY DEADLINE: February 19, 2016.
NOTE: Works must have been produced after February 2014.

Prize money: 1st prize - $AUD5000; 2nd prize - $AUD2000; plus up to three Highly Commended certificates will be awarded to works considered to be of an exceptionally high standard.
