Call for Flora #1: Trees

First Jury: 3/1/17

The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum is home to more than 5,000 different types of trees. Select a specific tree or its parts (fruit, flowers, branches) and render it in scientifically accurate two-dimensional fine art (excluding photography). Submit your work for jury consideration and the opportunity to donate to this exciting new project's permanent archive!

Artwork depicting other plants or animals of the MLA will also be considered, although priority for this call will be given to tree images. This is an ongoing project. For more information about the Flora and Fauna Illustrata, and to download the submission forms, visit the project website.

This collection's mission is seen as a place for artists who work with natural science subject matter, in non-commercial ways, to exhibit their work and know that it will be properly conserved and kept forever. This program is intended to give you an opportunity to create work that will be exhibited, conserved and used as research for generations to come.
