The Pierce Cedar Creek Institute's well-maintained hiking trails cover an amazing variety of habitats; and modern, comfortable housing and first-class meals will comfort your hard-working body and mind. In addition, we’ve lined up nature hikes with Tom Funke, Education Director at Battle Creek’s Binder Park Zoo and Resident Manager of the Otis & Warner Audubon Sanctuaries (just down the road from Pierce Cedar Creek Institute). Tom is a supremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. He hopes to find a few rare orchids for us, and, as it will be late spring, who knows what birds and animals will abound in the lakes, marshes, bogs, fens, upland forests and fields? For your soul, combine all this with the camaraderie of your fellow artists. What better way to spend a week or two in Spring? You don’t need to be well-versed in any of our topics, just be ready to learn and enjoy. Our group promises to be fun and varied; we've been in contact with people from Canada, Costa Rica, and the British Virgin Islands along with several stateside folks. Check out all the details and download an application below. Space is limited, so don’t delay. We look forward to welcoming you to Southwest Michigan!
