Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History
Computer Lab Facilities
Digital equipment and learning space for this GNSI Educational Series program will be provided by the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in the Smithsonian Resident Associate Program Computer Lab for Learning, a state-of-the-art lab equipped with 16 Dell PCs, projection system, and wireless Internet connectivity. Participants are also welcome to bring their own laptop, should they wish to use it during the workshop. Participants who prefer to use Wacom tablets instead of a mouse are also welcome to bring those as well, as they can be hooked up to any of the computers in the lab. The lab is conveniently located within the NMNH, which offers access to a café and lunch area. Participants are free to stay inside the museum for lunch, or venture outside on the National Mall.
Internet Access
Wireless access is available in the Smithsonian Resident Associate Program Computer Lab for Learning. Participants will have access to the Internet at the Smithsonian during normal scheduled workshop hours, and also at the Hilton Garden Inn.
