My name is Rachel Caauwe, I'm a freelance illustrator from Michigan. I graduated in May 2010 from Northern Michigan University in illustration and biology. I found myself drawn to scientific illustration because of my love for both art and biology, and my passion for teaching others through colorful, detailed images. I have had artwork exhibited in galleries across the United States, and I was recently published in the Journal of Interactive Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery.
When I'm not drawing I like to crochet, visit art galleries and museums, and hike through the woods.
