GNSI Great Lakes Summer 2012 Meeting Event Date: August 18, 2012 - 9:00am - 1:00pm Location:Room E, Thornhill, The Morton Arboretum, Lisle ILProgram: Summer GrassesBegin the day in the classroom with a brief overview of Schulenberg prairie grasses with Botany instructor, Rich Hyerczyk. We'll then go for a brief walk to collect specimens. Return to the classroom and work with microscopes sketching your grasses. We'll follow with lunch and a brief planning meeting. Oregon Group - Fall Retreat: Tryon Creek, Portland, OregonEvent Date: September 22 - 23, 2012Study the unique landscape through the viewpoint of birds. Day 1: Presentations and mini-workshops on general bird anatomy and drawing specifications and hints for working in the field. FON XII Reception and Events Friday, August 24th, 12:00am-8:00 pm A full day of events celebrating the Focus on Nature exhibit and the FON Program. Saturday, August 25th, 10:00-11:00 am Visit the Edmund Niles Huyck Preserve, Rensselearville, NY. This is where the COM.EN.ART artist-in-residency has taken place each summer since 1995.
