Statement

GNSI-Carolinas is made up of over 40 illustrators from across the Carolinas. Our home base is the North Carolina Botanical Gardens located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

GNSI-Carolinas encourages member education by hosting bi-monthly meetings where members share portfolios and participate in mini-workshops and demonstrations. We also hold an annual workshop and a group weekend retreat. GNSI-Carolinas helps promote public awareness and understanding of scientific illustration by producing several group exhibitions each year.

Anyone interested in scientific illustration is welcome to attend our meetings.

GNSI-Carolinas holds approximately six events a year, including meetings, workshops, retreats and social gatherings. Each meeting includes portfolio and artwork sharing, demonstrations, a lecture, or a short workshop. In addition, we have an annual spring beach retreat and workshop in the fall. Meetings are usually held at the North Carolina Botanical Gardens, Totten Center, Chapel Hill, NC, from 1-4pm.
Non-members are always welcome!
