Membership Benefits

Working in professional isolation? Members agree that the Guild is unique in that it provides a caring, worldwide, connection with others who willingly share scientific illustration techniques and business experiences. You don't have to be a member to use our web site and Listserv, or to purchase our publications, but joining GNSI (just $85/year) has advantages.

Annual membership dues include:

  • Ten issues of the GNSI Newsletter
  • The Directory of Members

Also provided free:

  • Technique Sheets II packet (only to new members upon joining)
  • The GNSI Journal (published every few years)

Reduced cost to members:

  • Guild events (Conference, Workshop, etc.)
  • GNSI publications (see order form)

Professional development opportunities (think resume):

  • Officiate: Start a new chapter, or become an officer in an existing one
  • Coordinate: An existing Guild project, or start a new one
  • Teach: At Guild workshops
  • Learn: At Guild workshops and courses, some offer credit
  • Just Participate: Any way that you can help the Guild is likely to benefit you
  • Self-promotion: Advertise your portfolio art at discount rates with Science-art.com

Access to Guild resources:

  • Videotape library of technique demonstrations (ask for a brochure)
  • Slide collection of outstanding work (available for teaching purposes)
  • Traveling Exhibit (Guild membership not required, but having an institution host it is)
  • Funding for educational outreach (proposal based)
