Hello,
I'm interested in getting a dissecting scope. I would like to hear if anyone has recommendations on what kind they like, and/or features they find important for an illustrator.
I also wonder if anyone has other recommendations of ways to look closely at small things in order to draw them.
Thanks,
Sharon Birzer

camera lucida
Sharon, you might like to get a camera lucida ("drawing tube") attachment for your microscope. Not very many microscopes offer this accessory these days, but one is Motic.
Here is one: http://www.martinmicroscope.com/MicroscopePages/Stereomicroscopes.htm
(Scroll down to Motic K400 Stereomicroscope with drawing device).
Another option might be a good macro lens on a good camera, and maybe a copy stand to go with it.
