The Guild of Natural Science Illustrators – New England Chapter will hold a show opening Saturday October 8th at the Denison Pequotseps Nature Center in Mystic, CT. (www.dpnc.org). It is entitled "From Observation to Illustration" since it involves accurate depictions of natural themes. It highlights a range of styles, techniques and subjects in the natural science field. Demonstrations of drawing insects through a microscope, watercolor and graphite will be shown during the reception. Portfolios and sketchbooks will also be on display. At 2 p.m. “The Soul of the Sketchbook” will be shown and discussed.
On September 25th Guild member Frances Topping will be sketching at the Nature Center’s Mushroom Fest and invites other to join her for sketching and instruction.
